    had a look round that site ratty but couldnt see info for USD forks have i missed something??

    Sorry, it wasnt specifically for USD forks, but it at least gives you an idea of the intenals etc.
    They arent hard to do anyway, give it a go….

    A cautionary tale re caustic – we used to have a belt fryer at work that every night was hygiened by boiling up caustic in it, one of the lads thought it would be a good place to clean up his barrels and head from a crosser, it went on the belt one end and all that came out the other end was a steel barrel (clean) and a spark plug, which as all that was left of the ally head. This was in boiling caustic for about 5 mins, although it is a lot more agressive when its hot just be careful…….

    hopefully i’ll get a rebuild kit at ally pally and the new workshop shouls be sorted by then so i’ll have space to do more than one thing at a time[:D]
    i might just do it the hard way with the sisal mop if there’s a chance it will damage the ally i did the standard forks this way still fitted to the bike and it only took a weekend so on the bench it should’nt take so long
