when I was pregnant I had a craving for Hollands cheese and onion pies from the chippy and i`d ask them to fry them in the hot oil for a couple of minutes []

April 20, 2005 at 9:27 pm #25747ScouserParticipantDid’nt all the cheese burst out?
If you like that, try grated cheese and onion on a buttered plate (tin one if you have one) put the mix around the edges leaving a hollow in the middle. Put it in a hot oven, and after about 10mins crack an egg into the hollow and put back in the oven until the egg is cooked. Sprinkle with black pepper and tuck in….mmmmm

April 22, 2005 at 11:26 pm #25750ThumperParticipantEver heard of Nelson’s Eye?
Sounds disgusting, but tasted great when I were a laddo
[the v.unhealthy=v.tasty ratio applies as normal!]It was double sided fried bread, with a circle cut in the centre for a fried egg.
Ketchup is a must for full dramatic effect when the knife goes into the egg!Sounds similar to Scouser’s cooking delight.
April 22, 2005 at 11:33 pm #25751prezzoParticipantgot into them in Newcastle Thump and they are boss especialy when youve been out in the cold working on your bike. i like the old egg butties with oily hands they always taste better when the bread is grubby

April 23, 2005 at 12:34 pm #25753barmy_carmyParticipantWell when I was preggers, I like my jars of pickled eggs and my bowls of cornflakes, used to get up 3am every morning to tuck in. As a child used to have dripping on toast or gypsy toast.

April 23, 2005 at 9:49 pm #25757barmy_carmyParticipantAbit frustrating, cause when I got baby home she’d sleep all through the night, so I was getting up for nothing, so I used to get up just to check. And would you believe all 3 of my children slept through night as babies. Was very lucky. Now they’ve all grown up fled the nest and I got my Freeeeeeeeedom back. A very good response Digger, psml.

LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, what a ride!
April 24, 2005 at 5:08 pm #25759barmy_carmyParticipantI like Galaxy, Minstrels, Maltesers and forrero rocher, and after eights and Belgium chocolates.
