At Bassetts last Tuesday, got blocked in by other bikes and could not get my bike out (as Radar says it was heaving, reminded me of leaving Donnington after a GP raceday). Had to wait until one of the owners came near to move his machine and let me out. They must be thick. Why would you block other bikes in?

Another time I have been stuck in a dilemma was at Donnington race track. I was on my Suzy GSX1100F and parked at Redgate on grass on the centre stand, at the end of a line of bikes; we were instructed to park there by the car park attendants.
Anyway watched the races and decided to leave early (normally when the sidecars are on) to avoid the rush to leave. Got to my bike which was were I left it, bikes either side and none in front or back.
Started the bike up to warm up while I donned my gear (good tip that, also do it to your car before you scrape ice / snow off your car)went to move my bike but it had sunk into the grass! Standing alongside the bike, I was trying to push the bike forward but both wheels were on the ground, so I couldn’t rock the bike. 255kgs of metal tent pegged into the ground surrounded by £000’s of bikes. I had visions of tumbling dominoes if I lost control of pushing the bike. In the end I had go to the back of the bike and push it froward using the luggage carrier until the stand came out the ground, then work my way around the side while holding the bike up with a foot square carrier. What a palava.
Now I always use the side stand on grass with one of those weight spreader outer thingies.
