    Early start for Checa

Back at the Sepang International Circuit, Carlos Checa resumed testing duties on Thursday, one day ahead of Ducati Marlboro team-mate Loris Capirossi. The Spanish rider, who was forced to miss the final two days of testing in January, wanted to get an early start to make up for the time lost.

“I am pleased to be able to have this possibility” declared Checa, “Today was useful because it helped me to shake off a bit of accumulated ‘rust’. Unfortunately two weeks ago I was not feeling well and I only tested the first day, so today was more or less my first time out in 2005.”

Now fully fit, Carlos Checa is eager to confirm the potential of the new Desmosedici GP5: “I’m very motivated and ready to work hard in order to fine-tune the bike and to help with the development of the Bridgestone tyres. The last time the team tested at Sepang, Loris got some very positive results and it was very encouraging.”

“Moreover, the fact that Shinichi Itoh joined us to work specifically with the tyres will be very useful. It will speed up tyre development and help us to adapt them to our bike. On his first day of testing with us, Itoh was already on the pace and this is very important for the work he will have to carry out with the testing team.”

    Best lap times:

    Carlos Checa – Ducati Desmosedici GP5: 2’03.60
    Shinichi Itoh – Ducati Desmosedici GP4: 2’04.30

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, what a ride!
