alright all, quick question, the water bottle or water resevoir (depending who you talk to) on a bike, is it strictly necessary to have one on? isnt it just an over flow or summat or other? surely it is able to be removed aslong as you make sure you have enough coolant in the rad and obviously compensate for the it heating up and expanding?
just got a slight idea up my sleeve that might interest Kat
Yup, it’s necessary. They are pressurised systems so it has to be closed, not a simple overflow like you suggest. There also has to be room for expansion, hence ‘expansion tank’.
ahhh right okay that makes sense, so if i was to remove the standard crappy one and replace it with the type they stick on streetfighters then everything will be fine wont it? good stuff…cheers
