September 6, 2008 at 7:24 pm #55732HippoDronesParticipantManaged to pack the van out even more than before a while back up at Rockingham!
LOLIts not so practical now I have the KTM tho as its difficult to get it in and out due to its height! So if I see a semi hi-top going or full hi-top for the right sort of money I may sell this one and am even tempted to go with a medium wheel base (if you can get a Tranny MWB?) or long wheel base and do a proper camper/race van conversion. I am traveling home less often than I used to so the extra fuel costs of the bigger van shouldn’t be too much of a problem and having a dedicated section to sleep in and possibly a tv/cooker/fridge etc would be nice too. A friend is just converting his new van and by god is it huge, his needs a tacho its that big but I’d imagine he’d be a handy bod to give me a hand doing the conversion!

Excellent photo!

you could look at fitting luggage compartments under the body either side of the chassis to carry fuel/water/tools, mebbe a genny and oddments, run an awning on the side for trackside maintenance or the nighttime bbq …
or if you wanna go really big go for a coach conversion, used to know a guy that was into Stockcar racing that used a coach, opened the back up into two doors and ramped his Stockcar into the rear, carried tools and spares in there and still had enough room for sleeping and cooking with the rest of his family in there…
but that’d probably be a little overkill
September 6, 2008 at 11:50 pm #55735HippoDronesParticipanthehehehe yeah I also only have a car sized slot to park in at home too!
September 8, 2008 at 1:13 am #55736RadarModeratorThat coach in the film The Italian Job carried 3 Mini Coopers…but look what happened to them…
You have been warned!

September 8, 2008 at 12:54 pm #55741HippoDronesParticipantI think we could possibly have packed in 1 more set of ear plugs!
