You know any decent shops that would stick it in the window and sell it for you ? I’ve done it at me local bike shop twice in the past and bunged him 30 quid when sold.

July 5, 2005 at 3:39 pm #28912MadSradParticipantMmmmmmm.. that could be a dilema. Bound to be someone wants a good gixer (one careful lady owner) lol. Stick a for sale sign in your pocket with the details and stick it on the screen anytime your parked up. But your probably doing that already. I would’nt have believed it was so hard to sell in your neck of the woods. It would be gone in a week over here.

July 10, 2005 at 3:25 pm #28916gixerParticipantin relation to the selling of your bike gixerchic have you actually got a price from a dealer for px, i know i’ve mentioned it before but do you really think your gonna get much more selling it privately. px and get that bigger bike now. ps i recommend test riding an R1
July 10, 2005 at 4:22 pm #28917GixParticipantThey make their money from finance…..which I cant have so what a dealer will give me in part ex is irrelevant…

July 10, 2005 at 10:30 pm #28918gixerParticipantwhat do ya mean about they make their money from finance, if you can afford to buy privately which i think i read somewhere that you plan to, then you can buy from a dealer without getting finance.
July 10, 2005 at 10:45 pm #28919GixParticipantNo I cant because the way a dealer makes money is the give you rock bottom price for your bike unless you go the finance route. They earn commission on finance. A dealer, if I was to pay cash on one of their second hand bikes using my bike as deposit, will only give £1800- £2000 for mine (parkers price guide tells me they can then sell for up to £2735), I cant get a decent 750 for that kind of money. However, if I sell privately, I can get a better price for mine and use the little bit of money I have saved to add to it and get something decent.
A dealer wont pay what the bike is worth, they wont make any money on it if they do, the only way you ever get near the value of your bike from a dealer is if you buy a much higher value bike usually on finance.LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.

July 10, 2005 at 10:46 pm #28920GixParticipantI can afford to buy from a dealer only if I sell mine privately….part exchange is a no go in my financial position and personal circumstance.
