Had a good ride yesterday with some good folks up at Cat and Fiddle yesterday. Left here with B2BM at 10am to meet Fast Enough at services and off we went to pick up the rest of the midland attendees on the way. First up was Russ, a regular at the New Inn, which is where we met him, then onto Sudbury islands to meet Dave (R1). It was already getting hot and the roads were getting crowded. Despite not long passing his test, B2BM was coping well with the filtering and keeping up good pace. Then it was off to meet Alan on his Baby B King (GSR600)at Newhaven. What a great looking bike, compact yet boasting bags of presence, and judging by the way Alan rode it, it handles well too!
We had a rest at the garage at Newhaven, drink and breather then off to meet the others up at the Cat and Fiddle pub, by now it was getting really crowded on the roads.
Max awaited us at Cat and fiddle, and some Northern friends were due to meet us at 1pm there. We got there safe and sound after battling our way through endless sunday drivers and tourists out to watch the scenery as they crawled by, the others arrived and a great time was had.
Me, Max, Alan (GSR6) and Russ (CBR6) went for a play whilst the others chilled. Nice warm tarmac and sticky tyres……bikers paradise, so much so I went again with Fast enough and B2BM, who had never done the road and both enjoyed it. May there be plenty more hot summer rides left this year….I want more!
