Went over to Brands at the weekend for a mates birthday to do somit different. They had some night time GT racing on and some of the machinery was awesome! []
Took some vids as well but coz it was at night they not turned out so good. Here are the pics anyways:
Just beginning to get dark, qualifying was done in daylight.
They all start to line up with their lights on.
Oops, first corner + being shunted = one very messed up Ferarri!
Bugger is what I’d imagine the owner may have said! LOL
This was the winner of the race, was totally fast as f***, he even had 2 stop go penaltys so had to pit in for them yet still won after a fantastic last 3-4 laps fight with the top 2 other cars.By the time we had gotten into the pit lane after the race most of the cars had been packed away but here are some of what was left:
And the pit lane as I wussed out and went home coz it was flappin freezing!
Was great to do somit different and at £12 reasonable value for money (well it would have been if we’d got there in time for the whole days racing)
What was really cool (other than the weather LOL) was seeing all the sparks off the undersides of the cars as they went over bumps etc and when entering Paddock Hill bend you could see there disks glow red hot under braking which you wouldn’t see in daylight! []
Would have been better had it been bike racing but considering the size of these cars (in width and length) there was an aweful lot of overtaking which really supprised me!

Tis quite surreal watching the headlights going round in the darkness!
I’d def like to see some night bike racing at some point []
November 9, 2009 at 10:35 pm #59792RadarModeratorMy brother-in-law worked for the company that built all the European Mosler MT900 like the winning car. Likely he helped on the original build of the car. He is at Lotus now.
Great pics btw

Can he get us any F1 tickets??
November 10, 2009 at 5:51 pm #59795RadarModeratorSadly no Lotus freebies for any of us. The new GP team has very tenuous links with the original Team Lotus, which in the last ten years or before it disbanded in 94 was a seperate company to Lotus Cars in any case. Those Moslers are awesome peices of kit. Cars v bike racing is an interesting question. I think this years MotoGP has been pretty dull overall, but in general bike racing is way more exciting than F1 for example

Always prefere bike racing tho, especially when comparing the likes of Moto GP v’s F1!
