WOWZERS, the full GP circuit is amazing, I really got to push the bike much harder than I thought I was capable of and it just lapped it up. The ZX636R is an astonishingly quick bike, the magazines said the ZX6R is a faster track bike and if so that really must be quite a machine!
I ran with standard road suspension settings, dropped 10psi out the rear to 30psi and 4.5psi out the front to 29.5psi. I used tyre warmers too which helps get through the traffic on the first couple of laps while the other riders get some heat in their rubber.
I held off my mate who was on her ZX10 and is a bit of a fast nutter so am pleased with that and found myself cutting through the other riders like a hot knife through butter, if I get the suspension set up for track riding this bike will be just fantabulous!
Brands Hatch GP is now my 100% most favourite track I have ridden so far, hitting 6th gear not only on Hawthorn Hill but also on the start/finish straight was such a rush and I was proper Zen’d going round Clearways, even leaving big darkies on one lap as the rear tried overtaking the front before the traction control kicked in and straightened the bike back up making me look far more competent than I actually am!
You will have to wait till I get back from Europe to see the trackday photos as they are emailing me them so not got them yet.
This is my tyre after today’s funannigans tho:

May 9, 2013 at 10:32 pm #65789imperialdataKeymasterThat tyre is one hell of a good indicator of your grin factor Pete. I bet it was really good taking the 636 round, so different to the Guzzi which I’m sure you are more used to by now.
May 10, 2013 at 3:50 pm #65790RadarModeratorWow that tyre certainly tells a tale! Glad that you enjoyed it so much!
Lookforward to the rest of the pictures!

May 24, 2013 at 11:04 am #65793imperialdataKeymasterWow, they are great pics Pete, you’ve got to get one blown up and hung on the wall. I take it these are the pro pics aren’t they?
May 24, 2013 at 12:06 pm #65794HippoDronesParticipantyuss, Peter Wileman Photography. The CD he sent had over 100 pics of my bike, not bad for £30! Am sure there are some better ones than the few I posted but it is hard picking the best. I poss will get one enlarged and printed, always room on the walls for bike pics!
