LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vacuum in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, there goes another engine!

June 10, 2005 at 11:04 pm #28287GSF K1ParticipantI may have to look into this for the Bandit.. I put scintered pads all round on my GSF and that made quite an improvement.

Thats about the size of it! The brakes on the Honda were pretty scarry before I fitted the braided hoses.

By “dickheads that jump out in front of you” i assume you mean pedestrians – in most situations average brakes would have done as its usually the case that the bike, or car was speeding, and if you are speeding in a residential area, as far as i am concerned you should have your licence took off you…
Also, it is a popular misconception that cagers are out to get you, they aren’t they just dont look for long enough… again round town you should be riding defensively and looking and apart from stopping at junctions etc there should be no need to use the brakes – ride behind a copper on a bike and see how often they brake. Likewise, if you are tearing round a bend and a car pulls out on you, whos fault is that? – yours, even if he had seen you it is likely that they would have made a decision based on the legal limit at that time on that road, eg hes only doing 60 i have plenty of time instead of hes doing 120 and id better wait for him to pass.
And yes, i do speed and the times i have come off i blamed no-one but myself when it was my fault…

June 12, 2005 at 5:02 pm #28295barmy_carmyParticipantWhy do you think we are alive today! we dont speed round town or take risk like overtaking on blind bends etc. I’m talking about the care in the community bloke walking up the middle of the street, waving his arms and fist at cars and bikes, it was like the road was for him not the other way round Lol! And yes the cagers are the ones that dont see or hear you even though your pipes growl, and lights are on, They just dont think motorbike! They also expect you to read their minds! The amount of times cagers have pulled out from a side junction, right in our path, they just cant judge the speed of the traffic.
