This 1998 R1 still holds or held a 5 year record for the 1000cc class at the flats for top speed through the trap over 1 mile.
It has a flowed and balanced engine making 225 BHP @ the rear wheel
60 BHP on the button courtesy of NOS.Top speed over the mile of 207MPH
February 18, 2010 at 10:44 pm #60399RadarModeratorIt looks remarkably ordinary considering the power it puts out.. Did it run without the front brake at Bonnerville? There is enough room there to let the bike slow naturally and keep it in trim with the rear I suppose. Who rode it and is there any You Tube footage?
February 19, 2010 at 5:20 pm #60400BigBenParticipantas far as i am aware it ran without the discs or calipers as theres no master cylinder or lever on the bars either. not sure about the other questions to be honest, ill do a bit of research though cos the guy who brought it to the shop comes regulary. hes the guy whos trying to crack 400MPH on a bike.
