This weekend we headed back to Peterborough for another BMF show.
This was the biggest show they’ve done with ticket sales up 66% from last year.
All the big names were there from Honda, Ducati, Suzuki etc, Kawasaki were there too but sadly with no bikes!
We had the usual pose pictures
I found my favourite of them all, Ducati’s 848 in matt black, so nice…
Wall of death was back
Speedway
And thoughout the weekend there were some excellent bands on including a status quo tribute and a SKA band, never seen a SKA band but was worth it, excellent fun.
We even had enough time for a few hangovers!
Over the weekend, we took part in the Moped Enduro again
Great fun as always, the bike ran well despite the air filter getting damaged and sucking in all the dust off the track! Carb will need a good clean, and I don’t even want to guess whats in the engine!
Those who read the BMF testing post will surely be waiting for an update on our upgrades, which I am pleased to say worked well.
The knobbled tyres got some cracking grip at the start of the races where the track was still wet, I have never ridden on them before and it took a bit of getting used too. I am used to having the bike planted on the ground, but the new tyres made the bike very twitchy, but after a few laps we got used to them.
And the 3 litre fuel tank we fitted was just about big enough to complete each 1 1/2 hour race, literally, and by the end of both races the tank was empty, with the bike running on what was left in the fuel lines.
We were running well, keeping very good pace with many other bikes, which led to some competition
We finished 28th out of 65 overall and 20th from 39 in our class. Which is an improvement again, last time out was 37th overall. There was another Gilera Runner out on track who finished 17th overall after clocking up 15 laps more than us over the 3 hours of racing. We’ll get there eventually!

Is it the same wall of death as turns up at Stafford?
May 17, 2011 at 6:37 am #62513ChampsParticipantI believe its the same wall.
And yes, its Joe. We had a go sitting on a Goldwing, couldn’t believe how comfy biking can be! Theres a picture of the two of us on there, will try and find the pic.
