I’m nooo happy !!!
Took the Ninja to work yesterday and whilst filtering discovered that my rear brake wasnt working. Pedal was normal, not spongy or seized, but brakes simply doing bu**er all.
Noticed at lunchtime some oil/grease on the rear disk.
Got home and took the caliper off to discover the piston (seal) leaking fluid.
The bike only turns 3 years old in August, less than 8000 miles !!!!
Not happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 3, 2009 at 10:17 pm #58807sidParticipantdo you ride in the winter del?
July 4, 2009 at 1:24 pm #58808BigBenParticipantits not too much coin to replace the seal and its pretty easy to fit yourself.
July 5, 2009 at 4:41 pm #58809GSF K1ParticipantI tend to ride all year round, but very thorough with cleaning, mind you last January it got plastered when we did the Spalding show and had to sit for a couple of days absolutely caked in crudd off the Crowland road.
Changed the seal over and took for a ride, but the pads appear to be knackered also, so ordered replacements (either that or its still leaking)..!July 5, 2009 at 6:37 pm #58810sidParticipantthey could have glazed over or been contaminated by the leaking fluid del bin them off just in case
July 5, 2009 at 9:50 pm #58811RadarModeratorThat is a bit poor, but Kawasaki do seem to have a bot of a blind spot on brakes. Superb when new, but don’t seem to age well. Sid’s advice about the pads is spot on btw, change them, it does seem they have been contaminated
