I need help!
I`m riding a GSX600F(1999),(not for long today bought a GSXR600K5) and i am to part ex the old bike for the new one, however i`ve got a demon rattle i think in the exhaust. Someone told me it sounds like the baffler plate. WHAT`S A BAFFLER PLATE?
I don`t want to pay a fortune to get this problem resolved, so has anyone got any ideas to sort this problem out????
Many thanks![]June 24, 2005 at 12:23 pm #28738barmy_carmyParticipantHiya Ade, Welcome to TBF. Introduce yourself to the other members, they’re a friendly lot here. Try slapping it to see where the noise is, then take it off and screw a self tapper or something in to stop it. You could also pack it out with a bit more wadding, its cheap, you can buy it at most bike shops, but its usually even cheaper at off road/motocross shops. I’d go for the self tapper option meself if your getting rid of it.

One of your mates will have a hand riveter I’m sure, but they’re not expensive. You might be able to get the self tapper in without taking it apart anyway.

June 24, 2005 at 1:21 pm #28741MadSradParticipantOn second thoughts…why fix it ? If the shop has seen it and taking it as part exchange, then let them worry about it.

June 28, 2005 at 7:05 am #28742ScouserParticipantI agree with Madsrad, its the dealers problem now. Don’t worry about it, they’ll slap £500 – £1000 on the asking price and should give it a full service before selling it.

June 29, 2005 at 7:44 am #28745DiggerParticipantIt could be a very young demon being pushed in a pram by its mum and went passed your bike when you went to the shop and the little bugger has pushed his rattle down your pipe. They are always doing it.Dont worry about it,the dealer will sort it.
