On saturday I noticed my tax disc bracket was missing, either vibrated off or was stolen.Ive sent off for a duplicate from Preston but it could take up to 7 working days to come back,am I still allowed to ride the bike as I am not displaying tax but the bike is leagally speaking, taxed.
Take it easy out there
April 4, 2005 at 7:06 pm #25563imperialdataKeymasterNot sure about the law Digger but I’d stick something on saying “Tax Disc Stolen, new one applied for” or similar. Would probably not park in a traffic warden patrolled area though in case there is a ‘Jobsworth’ who fancies bumping his numbers up a bit.

Not sure what you should do still, pretty poor info.
April 4, 2005 at 8:19 pm #25565DiggerParticipantThanks ID,ive read through that info and it pretty much says the same as the V20 form I picked up,but there`s nothing to say I can or can`t ride the bike.Probably best not go out on bike anyway seeing the weather forcast for the rest of the week….Thanks again.

April 5, 2005 at 12:43 pm #25567ScouserParticipantI’ll print you one off. What colour and expiry date do you want?

if they check on the computer it will come up as taxed anyway, it’d just be a bored copper if he wanted to nick you for failure to display, and as you’ve already reported it youd get off on it anyway if you took it to court.
