    Hi Guys,

I’m a born again biker and have just bought a lovely Bandit 600 which i’m hoping to slightly customize .

I’m thinking of putting a smaller reg plate on the back with mini indicators and an undertray.Firstly are the undertrays difficult to fit and I’d be interested in your views on smaller reg plates , do you get much hassle off the police , what sort of fines or penalties are involved and what is the minimum size I can get away with.

Sorry if I appear a bit green but i’d appreciate any advice.[^]

undertrays are pretty easy to fit, depending on the one you buy. I fitted one a while ago for my mate on a 1200 bandit and it was a piece of piss. Smaller reg plates look pretty good on some bikes, although the one its got on will likely be the smallest required by law – so anything smaller and your in “fine” territory. Obviously, if you go and take the piss and get a 6 by 1 inch plate, your going to get nicked.
If you get a piece of cardboard and cut it down inch by inch until it looks nice on the back of the bike then get one made up that size, then you have the biggest “smaller” plate that looks good, basically the bigger it is the less chance of geting pulled but a cop in a bad mood can still measure it and fine you, along with the can and tinted visor your looking at £120 i think (£40 a throw)

    Many Thanks Hooligan ,

I’ll take a chance I think and get something smaller , I found a web site that offers a plate that they say” looks as legal as possible” with regard to the letter size and font type so i’ll try that. £40 isn’t as bad as I thought and i’ll obviously keep the original should I get pulled.
