I’m currently having some fun looking at the live webcams (not that type Toggsy!). Try typing inurl:/LvAppl.htm into a google search and have a peek, most of these you can control yourself. With another search phrase (not printed here for obvious reasons) I found some pretty poorly secured personal cameras and, believe it or not, security cameras. Think some IT departments need a kick up the proverbial.

there are quite a few though!
I slept with faith and found a corpse in my arms on awakening; I drank and danced all night with doubt and found her a virgin in the morning.

May 14, 2005 at 9:06 am #23139ScouserParticipantThis is amazing! You can control cameras all over the world, pan, zoom, follow people. Are they meant for this ID or because the camera owner is on the net everyone has access because they are not locked out?

May 14, 2005 at 9:26 am #23140imperialdataKeymasterThere are cameras which are supposed to be there for people to share. For example, one of the first ones I just Googled for is “Romalive” which shows…err…Rome live! You have so many seconds/minutes to control the camera and then control goes over to the next person in the queue. There are also a lot of private cameras which are located in shops/buildings/workplaces etc and have their software controlled via an Internet connection, theoretically reserved for the system administrator. These are not supposed to be controlled by other people. There is a different code you can Google for which shows different unsecured cameras – people too lazy to put passwords in!
Obviously can’t tell you what that code is as this isn’t a hacking site!

Take it easy out there
May 14, 2005 at 9:47 am #23142ScouserParticipantzoom out Digger with the scroll bar on the far right. Big tree at the top of the bar and 3 little trees at the bottom of the bar. Slide down to the little trees and this zooms out. Then pan left and right to find something intresting then zoom in controlling left and right as you do it. I’ve been watching a gang of teenagers with guns (probably BB guns?) in some other country and also watched 3 bikers at traffic lights in switzerland, 2 hondas and a BMW.

May 14, 2005 at 9:57 am #23143imperialdataKeymasterOK, due to popular demand (and threats of kneecapping) here are a few unsecured cameras. Please use them respectfully and if you see anything untoward, perhaps send an email to the owner asking them to secure their camera….
You can use google to filter out the motion-jpeg urls as this will reduce the amount of bandwidth you use (better for the slow camera connections and slower PC’s). Just click here
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=inurl:%22ViewerFrame?Mode=Refresh%22This will give you access to network cameras around the world but you can change the interface language to English by setting the language id to 4 in the url.
Many of the cameras I’ve seen all have an image capture feature (brown link on the bottom left of the interface). You can take snapshots of what’s currently going on, or view captures that other people have taken with the camera. I won’t be surprised if people start making a sport of this…..Here are some other geocam search links:
Axis cameras
