I thought I’d have a moan, was going to Shepton Mallet today, was supposed to be sunny, but it decided to piss down with rain instead! So now I’m sulking and suffering from terrible withdrawals. Somebody say something to cheer me up![:(]

Get some waterproofs – then it wont matter!

    1. They are very expensive. 2. When its raining it means theres low pressure, which in turn effects arthritis….. badly! So at times like these I dream of high pressure, arthritis going into remission and loads of bike riding,Do quite a few thousand miles then, cause gotta catch up what we missed.

When I got up on Sunday morning.. it was blue sky and bright sunshine.. by the time I got my arse in gear to get out and do something, the sun had gone and it was blowing a gale! Never did see the rain though.. so managed to get blown around a bit all in the name of “fun”.

Don’t ride in bad weather now, don’t need to, don’t enjoy it!
However in my very brief DR career (3 months, 7,000miles, 3 crashes and 1 speeding ticket), I wore a bright orange 1 piece waterproof suit meant for oil rig workers that cost about a tenner by memory. Ferkin superb piece of kit. I looked a tit, but as Hoolie says ~ “WTF”!

No.2 is a good reason why we dont ride in bad weather! When I was younger yeah I rode in all weathers! Thats probably why I got arthritis now!

Felt the winters I rode through more in my knees than anywhere else. Now I don’t ride the winter, I don’t get gammy knees. Would take a lot to get me out in the sleet and ice if I have a car sitting on the drive. Maybe a Vertemati would do it?

I bought a set while at TT last year and for £25. I got a full piece wet weather suit which all folded up nicely into a bum bag that was attached to the suit under the armpit. Comforable and totally water proof! No excuse now, go out and get ya sen one now![;)]

Hooligan, you have to come over here to the Phils., gray garbage bag, cut out the bottom, put it over your head coz when it rains it rains hard, sometimes average in 1 Hr same as a Month’s rain in GB or Europe for that matter, rainy season or not, after that, just take a shower.
Advise? Same as me, leave the big bike at home and play with the small one, for me KDX200 (your Beamish would be ok here), great in the water and off-road. Just play with the rear tire, turn it over again and again just for braking power.
After 11 years im still alive here and plenty off the locals are still wondering how i am doing it, if you dont like same as black ice, bring out the small bike to play, if you dont have the small bike? Dont drive the big bike when it is raining!!! Always remember in the tropics!!!

been there, done that – caught out somewhere – straight in the nearest shop for a couple of carriers and some bin bags – one over each leg, one over your top and two carriers round your boots!

ride the gsx in the wet – if i drop it, well – never mind – it’ll straighten with a big enough hammer. Beamish isnt road legal so thats ruled out, but the sr125 is good enough for the wet, although it lacks the power to spin the wheel up – even in the wet!

Hey, we used to take black bin-bags with us to Donnington years ago for the rock concerts… are they still going??? I’m talking about the late 80’s.
