I fell off at traffic lights when I put my foot down and my sole just kept on slipping on the ice. Having short legs I just couldn’t do much about it. At least the red face meant I stayed a bit warmer than usual under the helmet. The bike was fine but no-one came to help, they just sat in their warm cars until I picked up (read dragged!) the bike out of the way. Now it’s always 2 feet on the floor in wet or icy conditions.
I have long legs but really struggle to keep the bike up if it goes over a few degrees. They could do with a few more muscles. Luckily I have not dropped the bike yet although I came close a few times.
