Only 8 miles on the 125 keeping my daughter company as she gave her moped a run out. Managed to get in three bike shops though lol!
January 3, 2015 at 5:28 pm #68388elessimoParticipantStill 8 miles more than most of us! Three bike shops that close – heaven… 50 mile round trip out here to visit 3….
Hoping for a dry day tomorrow to get the first hill-climb of the year in: got to get a second hose-pipe to enable pressure-washing of the drive to winkle out the moss and trapped leaves – then should be able to tackle it even when wet….January 3, 2015 at 10:03 pm #68389RadarModeratorReadspeed was first port of call, a scooter specialist, but do small smaller geared bikes too, then Alc Dorrell Motorcycles, a long established classic off road specialist. A proper old fashioned bike shop and rounded off at Kidderminster Motorcycle Mart. There is another two small shops local too

It was, but I needed some miles!!
January 5, 2015 at 9:37 pm #68392Swindon AndyParticipantYesterday I did 140 miles with the 4 Counties Bikers. 75 bikes from Bristol to Weston Super Nightmare. Started and finished in Swindon of course, no motorways. Pretty good for a day that didn’t get over 5 degrees on my dash gauge

That’s a fair bit of riding on a day like Sunday…I had to scrape ice off my car at 11am, bitter cold and freezing fog!
January 9, 2015 at 11:05 pm #68394elessimoParticipantWell, made a miserly 8 miles today after work, dodging kamikaze pheasants and keeping a wary eye open for boar & deer: nearly took out two does yesterday evening in the car.
So the TDM is now in for a service & MOT – I’ve had it for one year: my 2015 resolution is to do more than the paltry 4,000 miles I managed in 2014. Should be simple now I’ve remembered how to go round corners…. albeit still slowly!
Must admit, getting back to biking after 19 years off has been a blast: can’t wait for the Welsh tour, Britanny trip, the TT and a Scottish trip lined up for this year…..January 10, 2015 at 3:41 pm #68395Swindon AndyParticipant4000 a year is more than most achieve. My MOT bloke reckons 1000 – 2000 is more typical of most bikes. Your year two looks like quite a year!

I did about 4500 last year but it was spread around a bit!
I am looking forward to the TT, Scottish and Welsh trips and maybe another run into Europe, see how cash/time/holiday works out
It was sunny but cold today so I managed another 25 miles or so on the 125. Quite a few bikes out. I should of dusted off the Duke!
January 11, 2015 at 1:12 am #68397elessimoParticipantAndy,
commuting along the Tewkesbury-Ledbury-Ross country roads racks a few miles up. If your ride-outs come north into west Gloucestershire then let me know: if my boy isn’t playing rugby (I’m the team photographer) i’ll try and tag along…Radar,
look forward to seeing you on some 2015 trips, especially the TT!January 11, 2015 at 10:15 am #68398ses310ModeratorWell I’ve looked at the bike in the garage and that’s as far as I’ve got! Looking forward to getting out though, feels like it’s been forever!
January 11, 2015 at 9:59 pm #68399Swindon AndyParticipantElessimo – 1st Feb short run planned Bristol area to AV8 cafe at Kemble airfield. I will pobble over to join the run and then go straight home from Kemble.
Otherwise nothing your way until after April. I expect there will be at least one into Brecon or similar in the good weather.January 11, 2015 at 11:47 pm #68400RadarModeratorElessimo – 1st Feb short run planned Bristol area to AV8 cafe at Kemble airfield. January 12, 2015 at 9:17 pm #68401elessimoParticipantAndy, if not rugbying I’ll see if I can join en route. Any start/mid-point info?
