There will be no Isle of Man Senior TT in 2012. The race has had to be cancelled as parts of the Mountain Course are too wet to run Superbikes on slick tyres. The event has only ever not been held due to two world wars and the foot and mouth outbreak.

After a number of delays, and a decision to cut the race from six laps to four lap, it was announced at 5.15pm, by rider liaison officer John Barton, that the Senior TT was off. Conor Cummins, John McGuinness and Ian Lougher were among the riders on a course inspection which decided the fate of the race.

The Lightweight TT will run at 6.30pm.
