Don’t know if I’ll be able to afford one or not when I get back from sea next time but I’ll not be far off on my savings, maybe be able to for the new reg Easter 2012 tho! []
May 12, 2011 at 8:53 pm #62480RadarModeratorThat is a dam fine looking bike! Would you trade the Husky or KTM?
May 12, 2011 at 9:42 pm #62481HippoDronesParticipantI don’t think I could lol, the KTM would def have to stay as its my dirty bike, and the Husky however impractical is so much fun []
The 300 is going as soon as I can get its rear shock rebuilt for its MoT (its preload adjuster ring has a crack in it), but the money I get for that is going in to getting my garage made secure after the attempted break-in I had the other week [!]
I have found with my silly bikes that I have massively missed being able to just go out in a random direction and ride for a day like I was able with the Speedtriple and Gixer, mainly due to range of the tanks but also the Husky is very boring on anything other than twisty tight roads.
I really love the idea of the Maico bikes but they will be even less practical than the Husky (which I never thought would be possible) and there has been no real news on them for around a year now, that doesn’t mean they will be bad bikes, far from it IMO, but I think the Husky is plenty silly enough for me for the moment and I need to be doing laps of Brands on it in well under 60 sec before I need somit lighter and more powerful in that style of bike.
Ever since I first set eyes on the Ducati Streetfighter it has got my pulse going, just as the Speedtriple did and the Husky which says to me it will be as awesome as both they were/are in what it is able to bring to the table.
I got the KTM 640 LC4 trying to use my head over my heart when my heart wanted the Husky and regretted it almost from day one, so I shall go back to my proven way of choosing bikes and go with my heart. It’ll be an expensive choice tho if the Ducati options list gets thrown at it tho lol, think without even trying I could add £4000 to the new list price! [] hahaha []

watch this space 12months from now! [] lol
September 8, 2011 at 6:41 pm #62484HippoDronesParticipantHave done some soul searching [read maths lol], I can’t justify the cost of one of these bad boys unfortunately. Nothing else naked seems to hit the spot either so am contemplating a k6 GSX-R 1000 for when I return if I can find one in good enough condition and low enough miles for the money []
December 13, 2011 at 5:00 pm #62485HippoDronesParticipantJust sorted a deal on one of these, unfortunately the Husky is going in part exchange. Get it on the 23rd! []
December 13, 2011 at 6:14 pm #62486ses310ModeratorGreat news Pete, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it

December 13, 2011 at 7:44 pm #62489katanaParticipantWelcome back mate.Pity about the Husky but the Gixer is a great bike
December 13, 2011 at 8:48 pm #62490RadarModerator@Pete…
1. Welcome back
2. can I have a go!@Kat, I think he is buying the Duke not the Gixxer…I think…either way…can I have a go??
December 14, 2011 at 7:13 am #62491HippoDronesParticipantCheers Radar mate of course you can, will have to try and get up/down to your part of the country soon
Yup,I went for the Ducati in the end. It is the bike that does it for me at the mo so I’d only end up slightly dissappointed if I went for the gixer
