As reasonably experienced (ie old!) rider and ex-courier I have always prided myself on my filtering skills.
This week I have been using the bike for work and clocked up the better part of 300 enjoyable miles and this involved a fair bit of filering. Thing is I was struggling to get through some of the gaps (no F B@stard jibes please), and was getting worried that I was loosing my touch. Then as I came to squeeze between a BMW ‘MINI’ and a hulking great new 4×4 it dawned on me…arnt modern cars getting ferkin huge! Especially width wise, thus making filtering am even more difficult art…
Anyway slightly pointless rant over…
even my nimble husky struggles to filter well, that is down to the wide bars being at wing mirror height tho, new handguards should help there tho!

Mind you sat behind a bloke on a Hinkley Bonnie this evening who resolutely would not filter! Odd
my thought exactly ses. last summer i had a ride down to st ives me and my dad on bikes, rest of family in the 4×4. back when bristol road works was going on. OMG sooooooo annoying anyways, needless to say trafic for miles. great filter occasion (FAIL)! people are so F*****g rude as soon as they saw us filtering the gaps started to close…… like we are going to nick there space. come on guys we will be long gone befor they even get into second gear! so the point to the story is i dont think it is the fact cars are getting bigger its the fact the roads are getting busier and people are getting more petty when it comes to road space as their are more que’s for everything nower days, (Road works, traffic lights, rush hour, holidays etc) rant over lol
