I was thinking of going on one of the Saturdays (28/11 or 05/12). Be good to get a few people together and go as group. Anybody interested.
Being honest this probably to be a job for a car, just in case there are any bargains to bring home

October 4, 2009 at 8:12 pm #59407ChampsParticipantI was working on a new hotel being built near the NEC last year. I got to stand there and watch endless people going up the road on the 848 demo bike. This year… I fancy some of that. Do they run the demo bikes through the weekend??

It was advertised as Bigger and Better, from my experience the Bigger bit was the size of the aisles and the better bit was that as so few visitors attended it was better for getting around. As for my attendance next year, time will tell, at present I doubt it.
December 8, 2009 at 12:27 pm #59411imperialdataKeymasterDidn’t make it this year but it’s a huge shame that it was disappointing. I have heard a few others say it was ‘OK’ at best. This show really needs a good kick up the backside to make it a world class event.
I realise that it’s important for the manufacturers to get a few winter sales but there are some fundamental things wrong here for the UK’s (supposedly) biggest bike event….
I’d start by moving it to a summer month (it’s the UK – DOH!) and adding camping/music/outdoor events. If the venue has to be changed because of this then so be it. They really should try to promote bikes, biking and the fun aspect of it all. You can’t do this when everyone arrives by car or is cold and soaking wet.
Promoting bikes in the winter is like selling Santa hats in June.

December 10, 2009 at 11:54 pm #59413RadarModeratorTt, Kat…any pics? It all sounded rather hum drum
December 11, 2009 at 7:04 am #59414ChampsParticipantI heard a rumour that none of the big manufacturers were there? Honda, Ducati to name two.
December 16, 2009 at 12:43 am #59415RadarModeratorThere was a poor turn out from the big players apparently…and then they wonder why the market is struggling
