I have just found out that Rod Gibson, the editor of Classic Motorcycle Magazine, passed away on June 28th. He sucumbed to Cancer.
I never met him, but exchanged a few emails with him, and he published two of my stories. He came over as a really decent bloke and true, down to earth bike entusiast. CMM was one of my favourite bike mags, infused with his knowledge and enthusiasm throughout
He rebuilt various bikes for the mag including a GSX1100 Katana and a Z1, making a fantastic job of it every time. In previous years he featured on the Men and Motors TV cannel as an expect mechanic.
RIP Rod, I hope there is something for you to tinker with up there…

He’s probably half way though fixing Barry Sheene’s Daytona bike by now…
