I am just going crazy at the moment, I can’t believe how much money has just been ripped from me in the last few months. Its getting beyond a joke now how much I am forking out each month. I so HAVE to sell that Triumph soon else things are gonna start getting re-possessed! []
Have just had to re-new my insurance on the bike… £845, that is a multibike policy tho so it means the Triumph will be insured so I can take people out on a test ride when I get the chance to be in the same county as it long enough to sell it!
Me bus died last month so I am now £1000 into my overdraft as I needed to get that replaced, I am spending out £200 a month on rent for a place I am lucky to spend 2 nights in a month each month as the gov has priced out the option for me to get home anymore than once a month! I had a £240 phone bill last month, the tax on the van, my gixer and triumph has all run out (triumph not too much of an issue as can sell it without) Oh and the gixer is in need of a service too!
I really have no idea where I am gonna be able to find the cash now, am prob gonna have to get a credit card which I vowed never to do as they are not my friend lol.
Soz for offloading but I needed to go Rarghhhhh.
July 7, 2008 at 6:41 pm #55893HippoDronesParticipantthe phone bill was for my mobile. I’ve finished with that lass now so I shouldn’t have anywhere near the same on next months bill!
I don’t have a landline due to swapping bases all the time but thanks for thinkin of me
What annoys me more is that I can’t claim any “get you home pay” from the RN even tho I was able to when I lived at my mates house in the same town as I do now, just because I don’t have an official tannancy agreement, makes me wonder why I dont just make one up and claim anyway??? It sucks trying to do the right thing, I always get caught when I do wrong, hence why my insurance is so costly LOL.
Ahh well, will have to work out what expenses I can get rid of. Am not going to Spain on holiday now, or WSB at Brands. Don’t think after Rockingham there will be any more trackdays this year either till I manage to sell the Triumph
July 7, 2008 at 6:43 pm #55894HippoDronesParticipantgaaa, am going crazy replying to replys that dont exist! LOL
July 7, 2008 at 8:42 pm #55895RadarModeratorI am feeling the pinch badly too, I have sold the XJR1300 and my plan to replace the trusty Thundercat has come to nought. I am going to Spain again despite really not being able to justify it. Diesel, food, home heat/light bills all gone mad in the last 12 months. GRRRR.
July 7, 2008 at 9:11 pm #55896maxParticipantI am going to Spain again
when????? on the bike????[]
July 8, 2008 at 8:02 am #55897RadarModeratorMid September with Spanishbiker’s company again. Thumper and his Mrs are coming with me and mine. Just a long weekend, but there are loads of roads to explore over there. Like I said, it is difficult to justify, but you are a long time with the lid nailled down
July 8, 2008 at 12:06 pm #55898TT07ParticipantAnd the official inflation figure is 3.3% eh.
Can’t remember the last time the weekly shop (year on year) ONLY increased at the inflation rate.
This years “Community Charge” AS EVER was up by 5%.
Household fuel bills, yup, they sure AINT at ONLY 3.3%.
Petrol prices per Gallon in June, year on year from my records show:
2003 £3.35
2004 £3.63 plus 8.4%
2005 £3.94 plus 8.5%
2006 £4.26 plus 8.1%
2007 £4.40 plus 3.3%
2008 £5.45 plus 23.9%The fact is that IF you have an understanding employer that is still making a profit then they are, at the very best, only going to refer to the Official Government Inflation Figures when dishing out a payrise. Thats why, where I work, they have just settled for 3%.
We sure are paying the price for the figures the Government uses. They’ve got us over a barrel, just like the oil producing Nations, Oh!, of course, we ARE one!
Commiserations Pete247, your not on your own when saying
“Soz for offloading but I needed to go Rarghhhhh”.I dare say MOST if not ALL of us are feeling the pinch, more so than at any time other time in our lives.
July 9, 2008 at 12:04 am #55899imperialdataKeymasterSorry Pete, it was my reply that I posted and deleted a few minutes later. Read it back and it sounded like an advert for TalkTalk, didn’t intend for that to happen.
Was sympathising with you as I’ve just had a £750 car repair bill. Nothing major wrong either, just 4 tyres, suspension, exhaust, ball joint. General running stuff all at the same time.
July 9, 2008 at 12:06 am #55900imperialdataKeymasterOh, and good breakdown of fuel prices TT. Seeing it like that shows how bad we’ve had it this year
July 9, 2008 at 8:02 am #55901HippoDronesParticipantviva la revolution!
July 9, 2008 at 11:18 am #55902imperialdataKeymaster“The bikers are revolting”[:o)]
July 9, 2008 at 4:53 pm #55903HippoDronesParticipantLOL, my B.O. is after a trackday thats for sure!
July 9, 2008 at 9:13 pm #55904HippoDronesParticipantI’m a slightly happier chappy!
A mate has offered to front me some cash till things get a bit better for me so I can still go to WSB in August!
I’ve been looking forward to going since getting back from it last year, am sure some of you remember the pics? So I am so chuffed to bits to be able to go now, I was looking forward to more than the holiday to Spain so the fact that its this that I can go to instead of MXing in Spain has put a grin on my face from ear to ear!!!
July 9, 2008 at 10:25 pm #55905TT07ParticipantBack on track then Pete[], or as far as WSB @ Brands goes right by the side of the track[:p]. Yes remember last years Review.
