Noyes will be replacing David Checa in Team GMT 94 Yamaha for the Spanish round of the SS championship (Valencia – 23rd April). Checa is still recovering from his accident during pre-championship testing at Almeria. Though he hopes to be back on form by the weekend of the race, it has nevertheless been decided that he will not race at Valencia because the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race is going to be held on the same days. Checa’s replacement for the first two races of the season was Anthony Gobert, but Noyes has been preferred for the Spanish race. The 26 year old American, son of a famous SBK journalist, has been living in Spain since he was 14 years of age. Noyes is one of the favourites in the Formula Extreme 1000 championship and has already won two titles in Spain, in the 2003 SST Superseries and in last year’s National Endurance Cup. It was during the course of this competition that he finished second in the Albacete round of the World Endurance Championship.
