Positive test session for Rizla Suzuki at Snetterton
Shakey and Haydon get to grips with new GSX-R1000Rizla Suzuki’s Shane Byrne and James Haydon completed nearly 200 laps in a private test at Snetterton yesterday (Monday). The test gave both riders plenty of time to get accustomed to the latest development version of the Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 K6.
Shane Byrne said: “It was very cold today on track but that didn’t prevent us from doing a lot of laps and getting to know the bike better. I’m really pleased with the amount of laps I was able to do and the feeling I’m getting for the bike.”
James Haydon added: “It’s great to get back out on the Rizla Suzuki and blow the cobwebs out of my system. By the end of the day I felt I had brushed off most of the rust from the winter lay-off and now I’m ready to really ride and race again. I feel we have made a positive step forward. I’m enjoying my riding and can’t wait for the next test.”
Snetterton will host the first chance to see all the BSB riders on track together this year with an official test on March 18/19. Tickets for this, or for the first round of the 2006 British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch, are now on sale by calling 0870 950 9000 or by visiting http://www.motorsportdirect.co.uk
