At last week’s Sepang Test, Tadayuki Okada had his first outing as a RC211V testing and development rider. The ex-World Championship rider has offered his extensive Grand Prix experience to aid the transition of the 2005 model to the bike used in the upcoming season.
‘Taddy’ competed in five premier class seasons, and finished 500cc runner-up in 1997. In an interview with motogp.com he took the time to explain the details of his work and analyse the various aspects of the new Honda bike, with which the Japanese giant hope to regain the title in 2006
“We´ve had a few problems with the 2005 model’s handling, but I will do my best to get it ready for 2006”
Talking about rookie Dani Pedrosa, Okada praised the young Spaniard’s mentality, adding that “It impressed me, and perhaps it might be possible that he wins this season”
39 year old Okada also compared the bikes he now tests with his previous premier class rides in the exclusive interview.
