The other thread about old icons made me think about the Suzuki RG500 I had, erm, a lot of years ago!
That would make a great fun bike today, admittedly outdated in many ways, of course.
Mine was heavily modified by Stan Stephens and ran bigger capacity than standard, 570cc as I recall.
A stage three engine tune and aftermarket expansion chambers worked with the bigger bores to give 120 bhp at the rear wheel, a lot more than the standard 100 bhp at the crankshaft.
That thing flew, only the skinny wheels/tyres holding it back compared to the best handling bikes of the time.
The sound was great and that would be another aspect to adore in these days of (mainly) quiet four-strokes!
