Ryan Farquhar at Hillberry, he’s doing about 120mph and came past at no more than arm lengths away. Got loads of images of empty roads before getting this one.
Dave Molyneux at the top of Bray Hill, broke the lap records with an avarage lap speed of nearly 116mph, the side cars are a bit slower than the solos, he’s just doing about 140mph in a 30mph zone. The quick solos will be doing around 165mph with the front wheel up in the air as they cross the traffic lights.
Going home (not my bike)And the quote of the TT from Guy Martin, top TT competitor and mad bloke, talking about one of his rivals…….

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vacuum in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, there goes another engine!

June 10, 2005 at 11:08 am #28259GixParticipantWell I think there is one in Leicester next week, there is a post about it in meetings.
I will be at Bassetts Pole maybe the week after next, not sure if the others are going next week though.LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.

I met some Bassetts Pole regulars when I was over at the TT. Some nutter on a Black Hyabusa who seems to have collected more points in his licence than Chelsea did in the Premiership.
The final race has just finished, John McGuiness won, new lap record for the Senior TT 17min 46 secs average speed of 127.33mph. All over for another year [].
Might have to get over to the Manx TT for another fix.

June 11, 2005 at 9:19 am #28261imperialdataKeymasterGreat shots RR, sounds like you had a great time and it was a particularly good year for the racing. Did you get to take your bike around the roads over there?
June 12, 2005 at 7:26 am #28262RadarModeratorGreat piccies RR, I MUST get back to the IoM one day. Last went in 1987.
Enjoy Snetters, good track I used to go there quite a bit between 86 and 92 when I lived a few miles up the road from it.

Thanks for the kind words, I have lots of other piccies if you would interested in seeing them, including some multi frame exposures of Faquahar rounding Hillberry .
ID,
Yes I managed to have a few trips around the circuit, the majority of the circuit now has speed limits imposed on it with just a few small sections displaying the national speed limit sign (ie no speed limit over there) all except the mountain section which is still ‘no limit’. There are alot more speed restrictions now than there was the first time I went (1997). I tended to ride round early in the morning while everyone else was getting over their hangovers.
I had a great time but I must admit the news of Gus Scotts’ terrible accident has upset me alot . Condolences to Guss’ family and friends and also April Bolster the marshall who also lost her life in the incident on the second lap of the Senior race on Friday.
