Tamada aiming to return for French GP
Japanese Konica Minolta Honda rider Makoto Tamada has made rapid progress in his recovery from the wrist fracture he sustained at Estoril, but it is still unclear whether or not he will bit fit in time to participate in the French GP.
The wrist injury has already forced Tamada to sit out the Portuguese GP in Estoril and the historic Chinese GP in Shanghai, where he was replaced by Dutch rider Jurgen van den Goorbergh.
“I was watching the China GP and everyone riding on TV and it really made me feel that I want to get back there as soon as I can, said Tamada. “The race was under rain, but we the new track, I was already imagining how I would get into the corners or where I could go full throttle.
“ It seemed really fun to ride, and because no one had experience there, everyone was under same condition. I would’ve had good race there. And I’m sure I could’ve done well. To think of that, I was so bummed and disappointed.”
Although Tamada is determined to get back into the action as soon as possible, the team has not confirmed whether he will make an appearance at Le Mans. At the same time, the team still has not registered van den Goorbergh as a replacement in France.
The Dutchman ran an excellent race at Shanghai and finished in sixth place, causing one of the biggest surprises yet of the 2005 season. However, with the French GP less than a week away and Tamada´s participation at Le Mans still up in the air, fans will have to wait with baited breath to see who will be taking up the next challenge for Konica Minolta Honda.
`Right now, I am telling my hands to get well during the rehabilitation. In the beginning, it was hurting so much I couldn’t move the fingers, but as the days go, it is improving rapidly. I could move my fingers now. I am very very sorry to make you worried. I’m not 100% well yet so I don’t know exactly what is going to happen, but I am concentrating in rehabilitation towards France´

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, what a ride!
