Welcome to the den, razorback. I’m doing the Dover Calais crossing and going thru France to Spain this year. Coming back from Santander on the ferry. Any help and advice would be appreciated

Me too. My mom just won’t use the laser jammer I bought her for Christmas!

I too wish I had kept my Brit bikes but only to be able to sell them now for a new toy! I enjoyed them at the time but you have to be prepared to work on them, if only because of their age and the materials they were built from.

Really like the big Harleys. Don’t know why but I guess as I get older my views change. I think they are more a feat of engineering than a ‘fun’ toy but I rate them now.

Nice links. Not building one but interested in how they all fit together.

Insurance premiums pushing higher every year mean that biking is no longer a young man’s sport. Have you seen how much you pay for basic insurance in the UK if you are younger than 20?

Nice explanation and I have to agree, sounds great.

I never made the most of any superbike’s top end speed. I would say most supermotos and trailies can cut it with the big bikes on most of our roads now.

Always considered the Beemers to be a car driver’s bike although I haven’t tried any of their latest tackle.

Presume only pre 1965 bikes are allowed. Are there places selling these or do you have to hunt one out privately?

I always warn cars and bikes when I see mobile speed traps. Is that considered illegal?

Used to love the stories but think they are a bit weak now. Didn’t the writer change a few years back?
