Sitting on the patio looking at my bikes…

Yesterday, watching “The Love Bug”. Not very cool thing to admit, BWTF?

Then Gixer heard a strange voice in her ear. It was ID,

“Feel the power of the forum gix, let it guide your path”

With that Gix turned off her targetting computer and swept down to the Deathvan and doged the laser cannons as if she was guided by an unseen hand. Every shot missed her.

On her Right was Speedy Claire and her Left was Barmy Carmy. Both ice cool and focussed at helping the forum Queen and ID’s Angel fullfill her destiny.

Somehow she knew what she must do, she had to send a laser torpedo down the open lid of a Thetford Porti Potti, the Deatvans’ only weak spot.

Suddenly she was in a world on her own. The Forum was guideing her, she didn’t hear the explosions as she flashed over the surface of the death van with only millimetres to spare.

But Barmy and Speedy were in serious trouble. Toggsy, Radar, Thumper and Scouser were really agents of the dark side, all were caravanners and they needed to save the Death Van if their wicked plan of ‘A’ road domination was to come true.

Speedy and Barmy fought with all their might, their GSXRs twisted and turned as laseer cannon shells exploded all around them.

Could they keep Gixer safe as she sped towards the open loo seat at lightening speed?

Can she save the world from this caravan blight…

150 miles on the T Cat with Thumper and a mate on a BMW R1100S. Good fun. Met up with Toggs and Gixer just outside Bridgenorth for a cuppa, before she went R6 slaying!!

Tuesday night means Bassetts Pole night and yet another Forum gathering. To keep variety in my life this week I rode there from Thumper’s on Toggsy’s rather excellent ZX6R. That means in the last four weeks I have turned up on a different bike each time! No wonder poor old PINGU can’t find us!

Thumper on his recently acquired VTR and Toggsy using Thumper’s ZR550 kept me company on the brief ride there. Once parked up it wasn’t long before we bumped into the Chuckle Brothers Scouser and Digger, who yet again made the long trip down from the home of the newly crowned European champions, Liverpool. He was a bit lonely as Prezzo and Towcrowe were on their way to France and the delights of the Napoleon Pass.

Finally the forum Queen, member of ID’s Angels and resident Nun Gixerchic rolled up on her Suzuki GSX-R600 with fellow Angel Speedy Claire on the Pillion. I think that it is amazing that so much beauty can be fitted on just one motorcycle. Makes you want to cry….

So there were seven members on six bikes, not at all bad for a mid-week meet.

Overcast skies, full of the threat of rain kept numbers down this week and there were no more than about 300 bikes parked up at any one time. We strolled around the bikes for a while as Digger showed his paper towel tricks to a fascinated (and traumatised), Gixer and Speedy.

Best bikes this week were an ice cool 1970’s Z1 (even Lex would of loved it!), and a couple of choppers that looked like they had ridden here direct from the set of “Easy Rider”. In fact I am sure if you closed your eyes and listened hard, Steppin Wolf (I know I have got that wrong), could heard in the back ground!
As contrast to the rebellious spirit embodied by the choppers was a pristine 1990 BMW Z1 repugnant in bright red and yellow graphics. The perfect ‘sports’ bike for corporate accountants on their day off…

With less bikes than usual to stare we left with no other option but to go for a blast! I took over the ZR550 from Toggsy while he was joined by Speedy back on his own ZX6R to allow Gixer to have some solo fun on the GSX-R.

She roared off with Digger and Toggs closely tucked in behind. I gamely thrashed the ZR in a vain bid to keep in touch, with Scouser and a surprisingly restrained Thumper playing tail gunner for the evening. After about 25 miles, having blasted across the A51, A515 and B5016 we arrived at the New Inns at Barton-under-Needwood, as we had a few weeks ago. Digger had really enjoyed the long undulating B5016 in particular.

Once at the pub Thumper’s restraint was explained as he dived into the garage opposite the pub to fill up the thirsty Firestorm. They like a drop of the go juice these big ‘V’ twin Hondas.

The next couple of hours melted away quickly in the pub as the banter went to and fro’. Speedy had never met Digger, Thumper or Scouser before and it was good to see them all getting on so well.

The evening was rounded off in traditional style with Toggsy sorting out Diggers alarm!

    An another excellent night.

If he was nicking the KH250 I had years ago I would open the garage doors and give him some petrol money!
