Great bikes, under-estimated. Sounded good, handled ok and felt better than the Superdream.
GSXR1000ParticipantPS
BHP-wise I think they were rated at 26, the 250 Superdream being heavier and a mere 27bhp.
GSXR1000ParticipantI had the original RS250A and then a brand new RS250DC (I think that was the designation).
The later one had electric start and a better chain from what I remember.
Chain wear being a big problem with the early version.GSXR1000ParticipantEnfield
GSXR1000ParticipantJust being honest. It is easily done with the old linkages.
GSXR1000ParticipantCorrect. Well, yeah, the linkage was wrongly replaced, so i was pulling away in 5th gear, or trying to.
Anyway, the bike ran like a dream after that and it fetched £1500 when i sold it.

Quick question.
I rebuilt the engine of my 1975 250 S1, with new electrics including 3 sets of points, timed it up and started it first time.
But
it would stall when pulling away every time, so after 30 attempts, i realised the reason. Guess what it was!GSXR1000ParticipantOf the three-cylinder 2-strokes Kawasaki sold, i owned the 250-400-500-750, just the rare 350 was missed out on.
The nicest-sounding i think were the 400 and 750 models. Gorgeous, especially with expansion chambers, as they all had on at some stage.GSXR1000ParticipantI had both bikes together for only a short while, but they were fun bikes and the H2 750 was as evil handling as legend says!
Great-looking, the pair of them.GSXR1000ParticipantMy 1982 CB250RS did me proud.
Despatched for 60,000 miles and then sold for just £200 less than I paid for it!
GSXR1000ParticipantLOL! No, the red was a bit loud really.
GSXR1000Participant94 altogether, to date.
GSXR1000ParticipantFeel for those of us whose bikes had rear lights like cigarette ends, (Fantics for instance) and which went almost out on tickover…waiting in the middle of an unlit road to turn right, for instance.
A mate was wiped out by a truck like that.GSXR1000ParticipantYou’re lucky to have such a wide variety of wildlife.
We have 4 species of birds nesting most years in the back garden and also we see a fox from time to time.
