Why, do you want one or something ???
GSXR1000ParticipantIf you (and I admit I do too) regularly exceed the speed limits and have still got a clean licence then you HAVE been lucky. That is beyond doubt.
It is one thing to remember where they USUALLY park and to keep a sharp look out, it is another thing to be done from a speed gun held behind a tree like the bloke I read about, from above like the time when Derbyshire force lent the helicopter to a neighbouring force and nicked a mate, or from two guys virtually laying down beside the road, who got my mother for speeding.
If the Police are canny, you will have been done before you even see them. I know, my brother is with the traffic Police in London and they are catching people who have had clean licences for 10 and 20 years who thought they were ‘risk-free’. They were wrong.
God alone knows how I still have a licence, let alone a clean one as it is, but yes, I have been lucky as well as careful.
GSXR1000ParticipantPretty new I think.
GSXR1000ParticipantLuck does come into it though. It has to.
I know people who have been done for speeding by coppers kneeling on the floor (A14 Cambridgeshire) and sitting in the trees (A140 Suffolk).
Don’t ever believe that, because you keep an eye out, you won’t get nicked when speeding. Clearly, like me, you have been very lucky.
SO FAR!GSXR1000ParticipantCorrect, he was banned.
The point is that the C and F is prime money-making and banning territory, BECAUSE so many people believe they won’t get caught there and that the cops will go elsewhere the whole time.
They are not going to go ONLY where everyone knows where they pitch up, are they? !
I hope you continue to ride your luck, I admit the C and F is a great road but statistically very dangerous.
Personally, I don’t go all that quick anymore as my current bike handles like a tank.GSXR1000ParticipantCool, seeya later.
GSXR1000ParticipantI liked my (late) GSXR1000 and my (early) R1 immensely, but the Ducati 999R was many things no Japanese bike could hope to be.
Once I got used to the change in style from the 916/996/998 I got to love the styling too.GSXR1000ParticipantDon’t ask me the exact model but it is a Volvo of some description I think he said. I am not that keen on the things, way too heavy and unwieldy.
Fun in a scary kind of way I suppose.GSXR1000ParticipantI beg to differ.
If I were a copper and had a speed gun and a colleague for proof, I could make a fortune in fines at a minimum of 3 places along that route.GSXR1000ParticipantYou’ve been lucky.
The Police are well aware that we use that road to go rather quickly.GSXR1000ParticipantI haven’t myself, no.
He only bought it himself yesterday, FFS.
GSXR1000ParticipantNever been, no.
GSXR1000ParticipantOvercooked
GSXR1000ParticipantWhere exactly is it?
GSXR1000ParticipantCan’t swear to it but even the publican said there were far more police around last season.
