BigBenParticipant
if people intervened when witnessing thefts then the little scrotes doing it would think twice about it. when my missis' dad had his bike nicked, he appealed for information, later found out who it was and safe to say it was dealt with and no one has bothered his bikes since. when word gets out it puts people off. especially if you're a member of an mcc.
when people around here see the leather waistcoat they cross over the roadOne brave soul around here stole a bike belonging to a club member….he might regret that decision in the long run…
he most definitely will Radar!! they always do eventually. who would have thought a screwdriver could be used other than to tighten and loosen screws

pic has been posted to another thread but hopefully i'm actually going to finish it sometime in the next year or so or at the very least so here it is again.since this thread started i have had two swingarms, both VFR750 single sided arms. unfortunately had some financial issues shortly before i stopped posting updates so i sold the swingarm and the USD forks. so for now ill be running the standard fireblade forklegs and 16 inch front wheel. another VFR750 arm came up cheap so i snapped it up a few years back, stripped it cleaned it and replaced the bearings and seals. still got the same wavy disc and rear sprocket.
new parts i have acquired for this 1995 fireblade is the 1997 engine, capacity is up from 893cc standard to 918cc, yeah its not a huge jump but its still higher, with a new engine came new wiring, with the new wiring comes new carbs with a TPS sensor (1995 model didn't have them) still looking for a decent set that aren't ridiculous money. i will also be needing a 1997 CDI unit. i have mounted a 2004-2006 CBR1000RR sunbframe with seat unit, riders seat will also be getting fitted when i get the subframe spot on. though its not far off perfect.
managed to find a custom billet top yoke with risers for about £80 on ebay so that went on the build, and also grabbed a bargain of a KOSO speedo. always wanted one and when one came up off a track bike for £50 i had to have it. fitted ZX10R clutch and brake perches as i had spares from my ZX10R as i have upgraded the brakes to a radial master cylinder, more on that in the other thread.
list of parts i need to get her running other than battery and oil etc:
1996/1997 carbs and CDI unit.
1996/1997 radiator and coolant hoses.
and a lot of hours free to wire it all up. then headlight/indicators all the boring stuff. oh and i need to make a battery tray. there are hundreds of hours work left to make sure its right before it can grace the road but finally its looking promising if i am honest. enjoyBigBenParticipantAye its good to be back Radar, got a bit bored of facebook groups to be fair. too much BS not enough quality substance.
yeah not too bad thanks ID, lots has changed since i was here last. in my personal life as well as the forum, its looking great! nice work! nah i wont be getting it finished this summer, still a few bits i need that are quite expensive and in about three weeks we are expecting my daughter to be born so the bike will be on hold again but for good reason. i still have a lot of work to do to the ZX10R and i'm sure you all remember i have a major soft spot for the 2004/2005 ZX10Rs.
i never thought i'd ever be able to afford another one but i found it on ebay for next to nothing. the seller had been riding it when the chain had snapped, the chain luckily missed him, went through the carbon hugger, through the bottom of the seat, through the battery tray, through the top of the seat oh and through the engine! he had actually purchased and sort of fitted the new engine (nothing was tight so i stripped the bike fully and started again) but he couldn't get it running. i spent a while scratching my head and trying pretty much all my tricks to get her running, turned out the sub loom going to the coils wasn't fully clipped in. schoolboy error…but as i say it was absolutely rock bottom price i won it for. it had more money in the aftermarket parts that were fitted than the bike cost so it was a win for me.
bought it in july 2018 and had tickets for a bike rally in august that the missis and I wanted to attend so got her rebuilt in record time, passed the MOT with a couple of days to spare! if anyone wants to know the work that has gone into her i shall compile a list. but for now i shall leave you to enjoy my ramblings take care all.
BigBenParticipantThere’s some tasty stuff on there that’s for true!

BigBenParticipantEven if you know who’s won you can still watch it. I enjoy the adrenaline I get from a close race but I dont really care who wins. plus football is naff, what’s that all about :o
BigBenParticipantAye at this rate I’ll be buying more than I sell, Pete has put me onto a selling/swap page dedicated to airsoft and there’s some real nice stuff on there oh dear!!!
BigBenParticipantCould be a good forum gathering? Get BigBen out, the members not met him yet
Yeah am up for that, though I am the biggest target, but I have a lot of big guns too
BigBenParticipantAhhhh didn’t know you did airsoft!!! I currently have an unused stockpile of airsoft weapons if you know anyone looking to get into the sport and wish to make purchases? They’re not bright orange ones as they were bought before the law changed, but have never seen action. Chuck us a PM if you do, they are just gathering dust ta
