BTW
Anyone here like the RC30 (VFR750R)?
Other than the Everest-like first gear, the bike was virtually perfect.
Fantastic handling, immense shove (for an old 750) once you had got to 30mph (first gear did 85), better made than probably any bike i have ever owned and a glorious sound, rough and gruff at low revs changing to a spine-chilling scream as it neared peak revs. (Open end can, naturally). Those last two phots show 2 of the very best sounding bikes in the world, the Jota’s legendary 3-cylinder howl being outrageously addictive.
December 24, 2005 at 12:05 pm #39018RadarModeratorOne of my neighbours has restored by a Jota and an RC30 to a very high standard. Both sound glorious. As you say the RC30 could pick a fight with a modern sports bike.

December 26, 2005 at 7:54 am #39022GSXR1000ParticipantThe Kawasaki H1 was wild alright.
Race-spec Denco chambers, lotsa porting changes and a set of big Mikunis had that thing putting out about 80bhp.
Let’s say the handling was ‘interesting’.December 26, 2005 at 7:57 am #39023GSXR1000ParticipantThe Vee-Max was simply given another 30 bhp and a paddle tyre for the sand.
Traction? Just a bit. 100mph on sand up a 1 in 3 hill (Competitiion Hill, Glamis) is the biggest buzz you could ever get on 2 wheels, trust me.
‘king mindblowing. Yes, i said one in three, you feel you are climbing a ladder virtually, but at 100 mph.
Only sky-diving comes close to the rush that bike gave me.
December 26, 2005 at 7:58 am #39024sidParticipantespecially with a tractor tyre on the back lol
life sucks get used to it
December 26, 2005 at 8:04 am #39025GSXR1000ParticipantLook up Glamis and also Competition Hill.
Bikes and trikes and quads plus sand make for mayhem and adrenalin like you’d never believe. Some of the Dune Buggies are crazy too.
Try 500 bhp in vehicles weighing about the same as a Smart Car, and you’ll get the idea.December 26, 2005 at 8:06 am #39026sidParticipantdont need to look it up mate cheers anyway
life sucks get used to it
December 26, 2005 at 8:07 am #39027GSXR1000ParticipantYou been?
December 26, 2005 at 8:10 am #39028sidParticipantno but it’ll be the same as snow buggy’s in finland and the like and i’ve seen some extreme machines on tv

Er…….interesting bike!!!![:o)]
LOVE IS GIVING SOMEONE THE ABILITY TO DESTROY YOU, THEN TRUSTING THEM NOT TO.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, VODKA in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…….WOO HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!
