I have a Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder, and my legs are too long to operate the foot controls without having to move my entire leg and body!
This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to use the foot controls in a manor that could be considered safe.
Rear brake control is impossible, I have to lift my entire leg up and off the foot pegs and suspend it in mid air to apply the back brake.
The shift gears up, I have to do the same.
Unsafe and uncomfortable.
BUT when I sit on the rear seat/pilot seat joining area, I can reach the pegs just fine, and shifting gears is also fine and works easily, it’s also more comfortable. The same goes for rear brake control.
so my question is, is it possible to adjust the foot pegs/controls position to a more forward position so that I can sit in the driver’s seat and operate the controls with the same comfort as I can on the rear seat? Or adjust the shift controls to the style of a regular styled bike, such as the CG 125 or a GS 125.
I don’t need to tell you that sitting on the rear seat upsets the COG immensely and makes the bike unsafe at high speeds.April 4, 2006 at 4:41 pm #47277

And welcome to the bike forumApril 4, 2006 at 4:49 pm #47279
I’m a good old fashioned 6’3 lol
Sitting on the bike normally results in me being very cramped, which is why if the foot pegs were brought forward it would be a lot better for me you see.
I love the bike, and when it gets fixed I would love to be able to ride it in comfort.
and thank yeApril 4, 2006 at 4:51 pm #47280sidParticipant
have you thought about getting the same controls made you see on the big cruisers?April 4, 2006 at 4:54 pm #47281
What would the difference make? I would still be too tall to operate them correctly because of the way my feet are positioned I cannot shift up or down without moving my entire leg off the bike and literally lunging myself backwards to shift up the gears.April 4, 2006 at 4:55 pm #47282
did you not test ride the bike before you got it lol.
an honda xlr would be more suitable for you mate, thats if you like them sort of bikes.April 4, 2006 at 4:59 pm #47283sidParticipant
the difference would be your feet being further forward you might be able to get dual controls so you have them in standard position and linked by a thin bar to forward position controls and pegsApril 4, 2006 at 5:04 pm #47284
I dont think that type of bike is suitable for us tall guys.
Most suitable for a short zz top fan lolApril 4, 2006 at 5:19 pm #47285

I already had a test 2 weeks ago and failed, I was adviced to just ride around for a bit longer on my 125… but as it is now its un rideable for me… plus there’s a whole mess with finance and shit that dosent really give the option of getting a new bike… it’s this one or non at all.April 4, 2006 at 5:34 pm #47289
go for ya test soon as your ready, and get a bigger more suitable bikeApril 4, 2006 at 5:41 pm #47290
