Thanks for the links – Confused.com just shaved £88 off my renewal by finding Zenith from their on line motorcycle insurers.  Bennetts couldn’t touch them this year although they have been good in the past.
I was looking for cheaper motorcycle insurance for my quad bike too, will run a quote through when I get some cash from my accident claim[:(]

when i was getting quotes of around 700 FC for my zx10r (im 20 so dont be suprised its expensive) the other sites were quoting me 1500.
i go through MCE and i think the actual policy is from KGM, theyve insured me for 11 quid less than it was on my 600 bandit TPFT. its crazy
    08709090996-MCE motorcycles.

i should also mention for the small number of people on here (if any) riding on a restricted licence that quite a few of the listed insurance companies wont touch them..i know for a fact that Bennetts wont touch them.or thats what they said when i tried to get a quote in 2006

forgot to add this..when you take out an insurance policy make sure if you get free breakdown you asked them how many miles you get for free….when i binned my bike i didnt have the details with me so i rang someone to ring my breakdown and its only free 15 miles away from your permanent address….so that really doesnt help when your lying in the middle of the M1 in thick fog 200 miles away does it..no wonder its free

That’s really naff breakdown cover Ben, didn’t realise that con existed.  Thanks for letting us know.

I did my insurance through Confused.com (a comparison site like you said were expensive) and it came out at £80 this year!  Sorry, but being an old fart has its advantages sometimes!

just had another argument with gocompareyourridiculouslyexpensiveinsurance.com
filled all the usual crap in to find only one company would touch me..apparently because of the exhaust no others would bother. so then, the company that would, called MCE that ive already had insurance with loads of times quoted me £7,348, yes you read that right, 7 thousand quid. well it makes me laugh really because if i ring MCE direct ill get £6,900 knocked off…could buy myself a new bike with that mammoth saving.
    utter nonsense
