It is a beautiful 1974 Ducati Desmo 450 in yellow. Got it for an absolute song and will be doing what little is needed over winter.
Only needs wheels rebuilding, (spoked with stainless rims), a top-end freshen on the engine and some re-chroming.
A re-wire will pretty much complete the picture. (There again, I had a 250 Desmo and a re-wire would have been a good idea from new…)
Lots of work has already been done and over £1000 spent in new parts over the past 2 years.These bikes were brilliant in their day.
My 1975 250 Desmo did an indicated 115 mph on the ludicrously innacurate speedometer, but still equated with a genuine 95 mph, seeing off for top speed my friends’ Suzuki GT250M and Yamaha RD250A and out-handling them both on the road and at Brands hatch.Quality of some parts was frankly laughable, but as a sports 250 it was unrivalled at the time.

Yes, just like that only not as good.
‘Before’ pics would be a while back, as restoration is three-quarters done.
Will post some finished ones though.
