A rotten biking summer in the UK but it wasn’t all bad….
The UK had one of its worst summers on record. Rain, wind and generally poor conditions dampened our spirits but lots of us managed to get out on our motorcycles. In case you missed them, here are some of the highlights of the last 12 months to read while picking turkey out of your teeth…
A new Kawasaki ZX6R but that’s not enough for some people… I seem to have spent some more money
A summer tour of the Harley-Davidson factory leaves one of us impressed (but told off). He should have mentioned that Prince Charles rides a Harley too.
There was a summer forum run to Assen in Holland to support James White of Team AfterDark in the popular Ducati 848 Challenge. The Stafford Classic Bike Show revealed a couple of hidden gems proving to be a great day out and it was onwards and upwards with a new bike after passing the motorcycle test for Zippy in the GinoPed blog
An impressive turnout was seen at the CMC Motorcycles 2 stroke day out, scratch-and-sniff photos now uploaded. Ahhh, there’s nothing like Castrol 2T for breakfast. If this does it for you then you’ll probably like to read some retro 2-stroke fun in Shropshire.
Golding Barn Raceway Yamaha off-Road Day proved to be a hoot, while some knee-down fun at Brands Hatch leads to a TV appearance for one forum moderator on the Ducati 1098 Streetfighter
Get some great MOT testing tips in our new MOT sub-forum or ask your technical questions in there. While we’re on the subject of new forums, take a peek at Pure Petrolhead which is now open for chat about anything with an engine, even this Merlin V12 powered Chevy. Cars, planes, tanks… anything goes!
Thanks to all for the support in 2012 and to those who haven’t posted in a while please drop us a quick post, we’d love to hear what your summer was like and if you’ve swapped, modded or even just ridden your motorcycle. Even if you haven’t got out much this year, still say a quick hello just so we know you’re still out there!

There were some other good bits in 2012 too and I don’t mean the Olympics…
Pete getting up to the spectacular Dumbarton Castle on XS
We also went to see Team Afterdark in action at Silverstone too
Pete247 finally came out of hiding and several members tracked him down
Then we checked the Bike Show at the NEC too

January 6, 2013 at 4:59 pm #65108craftycarmyParticipantGood selection there ID Over the last year haven’t done any biking apart from September, when my mate asked her boyfriend to give me a ride on his Dragstar. I flippin cryed tears of pure joy on that ride. So any bikers who are down my way and fancy giving an ol bird (Moi) a ride on their bike (as pillion of course). You would make my year still got my biking gear :o
