Whilst out with my girly on the back today I accidentally hit the reserve.. I didnt realise that I had run many miles, so whilst conked out on the roadside I checked the trip – 155 miles since last fillup! OOPS!!
Got going again once the carbs primed up on reserve. So how far have you got before getting low????

July 31, 2006 at 12:01 am #50413RadarModeratorVaries quite a bid, the YZF will do about 160-170 miles until the fuel light comes on, but the XJR only about 120 miles till reserve. My first RD350 was the most varied bike I have owned, 18 mpg loony tunes riding everywhere but 61 mpg riding steadily in the wet 2 up.
I generally start looking for fuel after 100 miles or soJuly 31, 2006 at 9:39 am #50414imperialdataKeymasterI’ve got a crap range on the KTM 625. About 50-60 miles before reserve. And you can’t easily change onto the reserve tank as the lever is under the tank close to the middle of the engine. A gloved hand does not work at all. Same for the choke, it’s buried right in there. But that’s not the point anyway. You need to use the running-out-of-fuel as an excuse to pull over and remove the seat from out of your bum cheeks.
Still love that bike though.

That’s because the KTM has a tea cup for a tank hehehe[]
I agree though your KTM is a nice bike![]

August 4, 2006 at 4:13 pm #50418GSF K1ParticipantI agree with the variations on the rnage before hitting resreve.. If I´m out having a blast onmy own, then normally I´ll need to refil after 100 miles, but with the girly on the back I ride so sedately that I get the extra 50 miles or so. I was VERY surprised last week though to be caught out like that… and the reserve tap is so inaccesible I had to stop`to get to it.
