An entrepreneur left brain damaged after a motorbike crash has won nearly £4m in compensation.
Darren Elmore, 39, from Kettering in Northants, nearly died when his bike collided with a car driven by Daniel Jeeves, of Rushden, the court heard.

Mr Elmore was left brain damaged and will need care for the rest of his life, the High Court was told.

Mr Jeeves’ insurance firm had disputed liability in the case, but on Thursday agreed to settle for £3.88m.

Mr Justice Eady said: “I’m quite satisfied that the closest consideration has been given to the risk and uncertainties of the litigation and I have no hesitation in approving the settlement.”

The court heard Mr Elmore was in partnership with his brother Scott and was moving into a property business when the accident took place in July 2001
