want it road registered as well as on track and am trying not to be spending silly cash. The kit however costs about £4k and then a bike too so not cheap.

Anyone know of a cheap 08 ktm exc up for grabs, can then use the left over bits on my 250 for playin in the dirt! :D

Wasn't sure why they all looked so similar until I looked at their site:
quote:

BeOn Automotive SL, launches 450 GP Kit which consists of several pieces that allows an easy transformation of standard off-road motorbikes, making them suitable for motor racing circuits.

For a limited price and these non-intrusive modifications, you can have a real 450cc. 4-stroke competition motorbike to be used in the following motor racing circuits: motogp y supermotard, as well as off-road. this dual hability of being an on-road and off-road motorbike is due to the fact that the 450 GP Kit can be easily assembled and dessembled in a short period of time.

The Kit is sold complete and adapted to each motorbike, so there is no need to modify the original motorcycle. The retail price of this kit is 4450 € (*). We also provide spare parts of the kit on request.

Nice but they do come with a hefty price tag.

depending on how competent you are it can be done a hell of a lot cheaper, think if I had done somit similar before I would source my own bits off ebay etc and that way prob save £1k on bits. If I was not gonna keep the left over bits for my 250 I could also sell them for almost £1k too bringing the cost of the conversion down by 50% on top of the cost of the bike.

I am now going ahead with this, but not in this form. Instead of a 450cc 4 stroke MX bike I am using a 300cc 2Stroke Enduro bike, but am not keeping it in the frame, am gonna try squeeze it into a baby 125cc road race bike.

The donor bikes are:

1998 KTM 300EXC and a Cagive Mito 125.

and am hoping the end result will look a lil bit like this (with artistic licence lol)

Will this be road legal?  May surprise a few bigger bikes at the lights.

Speedy progress Pete, thanks for posting the pics. Does the kick start output shaft come out behind the frame or does the lever itself clash with it?

its the lever that clashes. Will have a think once I get the engine mounted. Would be loads easier if I was using the latest engine as it has lecky start lol, but then you got the extra weight of a battery etc plus you gotta find somewhere to mount it too
