Not sure if it qualifies as a rat bike, just a bit grotty really, but I've just inherited a non working xs250 Yam. Not sure if it is worth getting on the road as it might fall apart soon.

Are the getting collectable or am I dreaming?[:0]

Blimely an XS250! They looked rather like coffin tank RD250s but with a four stroke engine. Carb set up and starting could be a problem if memory serves. Anything from the 1970's would be a clssic now, just by surviving that long!

1978 XS250 found radomly on the internet

Fell off the XS250 because it handled so bad.  Was cooking it at the time too though.  Now it definitely looks like a rat bike

Well, 2 years on from this post and I can safely say the XS250 is looking ratty still. Bad news is it fell over and into my new Fireblade. Ouch, £110 to repair the blade properly. Still love the old gal though.
